Yup, this dip looks yummy and tastes just as decadent. You’ll never believe the “secret” ingredient – chickpeas shhh! Flavor this dip with shredded coconut or fresh or dried fruit. Our favorite fresh fruits to pair it with are strawberries, apples and bananas. It’s also delicious mixed into oatmeal or spread on top of pancakes. Enjoy!
Place dates in a medium bowl and add just enough water to cover them. Soak dates for a minimum of 4 hours. Keeping reserved water, remove dates and set reserved water aside for later use.
In a food processor (for best results, do not use a blender), combine dates and ¼ cup of reserved water; blend until a paste is formed. If the consistency is too thick, add another ¼ cup of reserved water. Add all remaining ingredients and blend until well combined. Chill in refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before serving.
